The industrial visit to Nestle Pakistan Limited-Sheikhupura Factory

The industrial visit to Nestlé Pakistan Limited, Sheikhupura Factory, was successfully conducted on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, with the participation of 35 BS, MS, and PhD students. The visit was aimed at providing practical exposure to modern industrial operations within one of Pakistan’s leading food manufacturing organizations. The key outcomes of the visit are summarized below:

  1. Practical Understanding of Industrial Operations
    Participants gained firsthand insight into large-scale food manufacturing processes, including raw material handling, automated production lines, packaging systems, and storage facilities. This exposure helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world industrial practices.

  2. Exposure to Modern Production Systems
    Students observed the use of advanced machinery, automation, and integrated production systems that enhance efficiency, consistency, and productivity. The visit highlighted how technology-driven solutions are applied to meet high production demands while maintaining international standards.

  3. Learning Quality Control and Food Safety Standards
    The visit provided valuable understanding of Nestlé’s stringent quality control mechanisms, laboratory testing procedures, and food safety protocols. Participants learned how quality assurance is ensured at every stage of production, from raw material inspection to finished product distribution.

  4. Understanding of International Standards and Compliance
    Students were introduced to globally recognized standards such as ISO, HACCP, and internal Nestlé quality benchmarks. This enhanced their awareness of regulatory compliance and the importance of maintaining consumer trust in the food industry.

  5. Insight into Supply Chain and Sustainability Practices
    The visit offered an overview of supply chain management, logistics, and sustainability initiatives adopted by Nestlé, including waste management, resource optimization, and environmental responsibility within industrial operations.
