Centre for Mathematics and Its Applications
Mission of CMAP
The Centre for Mathematics and its Applications (CMAP), University of Management and Technology (UMT) aims to:
- Provide the best resource centre and an excellent learning place for Mathematics and its Applications in Applied Sciences.
- Provide a platform for interaction with the trading institutions and local industries.
- Promote interaction between mathematicians and the experts of other disciplines such as, Economics, Finance, Social Sciences, Computer Scince and Electrical Engineering.
Objective of CMAP
The activities of special interest to the CMAP are (but not limited to):
- Hold International/National Conferences, Workshops, Seminar Series, interdisciplinary colloquiums
- Establish research of different research groups
- Offer Short Courses
- Establish collaborations and linkages with other institutions and disciplines like ASSMS, LUMS, LSE, UCP, COMSATS, QAU, NUST, IBA-Karachi and ICTP-Italy in the form of MoUs regarding exchange program, summer schools, conferences and workshops, and course work mobility
- To obtain Research Grants from HEC for the CMAP
- To offer Post-Doctoral Fellowship under the supervision of Director of CMAP for a period of 6-12 months on the basis of Research Grants obtained from HEC
